Julie Kent

Development Coordinator

Julie Kent is currently the Development Coordinator at Argonaut. In this role, she oversees the organization’s grant-related activities and communicates with the community at-large what the organization is doing through social media and newsletters.

Julie has over 15 years experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. She began her post-secondary education at the then Baldwin-Wallace College (now Baldwin Wallace University) at the age of 16 through dual enrollment while still in high school and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Communications and Digital Design. She believes strongly in the value of public service and volunteerism, and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

Julie also has a love of water and maintains her American Red Cross certification as a Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor so that she is able to jump in and help out with some of PHASTAR’s on-water maritime programming when she isn’t busy writing grants.  When the weather is warm, you might see her out on a paddle board or kayak on the Cuyahoga River or Lake Erie near downtown Cleveland!

She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Global and Greater Cleveland Chapters, and was appointed to serve on two AFP Global committees for 2022: the Marketing, Awards, and Communications Committee; and the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA) Emerging Leaders Committee.

Julie officially joined the Argonaut team as a staff member in October 2018, but her involvement as both a contractor and volunteer dates back to January 2015.
