Many of our Civic, Public, and Business leaders are very interested in the re-opening of an Aviation High School. The City of Cleveland has previously discussed redevelopment plans for Burke Lakefront Airport. These plans included developing maintenance facilities and other airport support functions on the site of the former General Benjamin O. Davis Jr. Aviation High School. The PHASTAR Vision enhances the City’s redevelopment plans providing full utilization of the Aviation High School building and hangar. By combining the two PHASTAR missions we will create a bridge to multiple regional industries providing students with apprenticeship and intern opportunities.
PHASTAR’s Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School is on course for an August 2016 launch. PHASTAR is in discussions with the Cleveland Municipal School District formalizing an operations agreement. The school will begin the process of educating a pool of qualified graduates to serve these related industries while the PHASTAR Initiative becomes fully implemented.
