PHASTAR Announces New Headquarters in Cleveland Flats

PHASTAR Board of Directors announces that PHASTAR Corp. has signed a multi-year lease on a 9600-square-foot building on Columbus Rd. in the Flats of downtown Cleveland.

The new building at 1776 Columbus Road is located across the street from The Foundry Rowing and Sailing Center and is nestled in between Lolly the Trolley and the Cleveland Metroparks. PHASTAR has begun the process of renovations to the space to make sure that it best suits the nonprofit’s needs.  As a first step, a design team has been formed and will be meeting to develop and finalize plans.

PHASTAR’s administrative office was previously located in the Ariel International Building on E. 40th in Cleveland.

The new location on Columbus Rd. provides a significant increase in available space that will have a variety of uses.  The ground floor level will serve as a multi-purpose workshop, where students from the PHASTAR-founded Davis Aerospace & Maritime High School can get hands-on experience working on boats and aircraft alongside PHASTAR staff and industry professionals. The second floor will house the nonprofit’s administrative offices, and includes additional space that will be tailored to meet the needs of partners, such as the U.S. Navy and the Sea Cadets, who will occasionally use the space for training and educational purposes.  An executive conference room and event space will be made available for rentals, and some of the extra office space may be rented out as low-cost “incubator” space for aspiring new entrepreneurs and start-up businesses.

The renovations will be documented from start to finish in a documentary video being produced by St. Ignatius High School senior C.J. Ripepi, who is volunteering his time and talents.

Renovations are expected to be fully completed by October 2018, and a “grand opening” event is tentatively being planned to unveil the new space to the public. Details about this event will be made available as the project draws closer to completion.
